I shook my head.
“Sophie isn’t a bargaining chip, Elon. She deserves both parents to act in her best interests.”
He looked down.
Then I asked the only question that still needed an answer.
“Were you having an affair with Sierra?”
He glanced around the table.
“Madeline, everyone is sitting here.”
“They already know what I heard.”
“Elon,” his father said quietly.
My husband lowered his head.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Then he finally whispered,
“Yes.”
I closed my eyes.

“Tonight, Sophie and I are staying with Mom and Dad.”
His face crumpled.
“And our marriage?”
