My Two Sisters and I Decided to Take a DNA Test. When the Results Came Back, We Discovered That One of Us Was Actually the Mother of the Other Two. But the Most Horrifying Part Was Finding Out Who Their Father Was 😨😱
I am 63 years old. My sisters, Linda and Susan, are 61 and 59.
We have been inseparable our entire lives. We grew up together, got married, had children, and buried our parents.
I never imagined that, at our age, we could uncover a secret so horrifying that
it would make us question everything we had ever known about our lives.
It all started on an ordinary Sunday afternoon.
The three of us were sitting in a café when Susan suggested taking a DNA test.
“Wouldn’t it be interesting to find out where our ancestors came from?” she said, laughing.
Linda immediately agreed.
I don’t know why, but something about the suggestion made my stomach tighten.
Still, I agreed.
Three weeks later, the results arrived.
Susan was the first to call me.
Her voice was trembling.
“Mary, are
you sitting down?”
“What’s wrong?”
“Something is wrong with our results. Or… I don’t even know what to think.”
“What are you talking about?”
She went silent for several seconds.
“The test says you’re not my sister.”
I laughed.
“That’s ridiculous. The laboratory must have mixed up the samples.”
“Mary… the test says you’re my mother.”
I nearly dropped my phone.
A few minutes later, Linda called.
Her results showed exactly the same thing.
According to the DNA tests, I was the biological mother of both my sisters.
But that
was impossible.
I was only two years older than Linda and four years older than Susan.
I immediately contacted the laboratory.
The specialist carefully reviewed the results before saying:
“Ma’am, we’ve checked the data twice. But these results are biologically inconsistent with the ages you’ve given us. We need to collect new samples and verify your identities.”
That night, I couldn’t sleep.
The following morning, I drove to our parents’ old house.
My mother had died seven years earlier, and my father had passed away twelve years ago.
Most of
their belongings were still stored in the attic.
After searching for nearly three hours, I found an old metal box.
Inside were birth certificates, hospital documents, and a letter written in my mother’s handwriting.
